There are lots of things happening in Manawa the weekend of June 2nd. Manawa’s annual city wide rummage, a right of passage for anyone who loves a good rummage sale, there will be things for sale all over Manawa and even beyond. Just remember one person’s cast off’s are another person’s treasures. Those living in the Manawa area can sign up at Baylake Bank, the cost is $10 and your name will go into a drawing for Chamber Bucks to be spent right here in Manawa, and your location on a map. Many people don’t know that we have a large Amish community between Manawa, Clintonville and Marion, they will be having their 8th Annual Spring Quilt & Consignment auction at Lester Lambright’s farm, 4 miles south of Marion, or 12 North of Manawa on Hwy 110, or from Clintonville, west on Highway C to 110, then right on 110 to the farm. They are also having a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and a bake sale to support their school. If you want to look at or even purchase some beautifully handmade quilts, and have an awesome breakfast, this should definitely be one of your planned stops on Saturday June 2nd.
Another happening here in Manawa will be at Keglers Bowling Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. a beer, wine and appetizer festival, the cost is $10 per person. In case there are some of you who are unfamiliar with Kegler’s, they have a very good selection of beers, many different microbrews and some very nice beers on tap as well. So you can taste a selection of beers and wine while enjoying some appetizers. So grab some friends and take a break from the activities of the day and step in for a cold one.
I am very excited that a group of ladies will be having a bridal luncheon here also, the woman who is hosting this luncheon has just some fabulous ideas and I am excited to see how it all comes together. Perhaps they will allow us to have some photos that we can post. The Lindsay House is an intimate and beautiful place to hold baby showers, bridal showers, gift openings, or simply to have your out of town guests stay. Enjoy whatever you plan to do on June 2nd , but always keep in mind, there is always something happening in Waupaca County!
